Here is the starting configuration on the internal bbs starfleetmngmt.proboards.com/index.cgi It is in it's early stages and this is just being used as a boilerplate template so I can start organizing and defining the general layout and what information should go where. My intentions are to transfer this template over to a php bbs system running an Lcars-style interface. It still have a l ways to go before I'm happy with the layout. Any suggestions?
officially,
Rick Smith

Just got back from the my research and exploration trip to the property, and all I can say is it is amazing. It is located on totally flat land and behind it is nothing but mountain, which I trekked almost 3/4's of the way up and that took almost two hours twenty minutes downhill. But man what a majestic view of the valley from that height.
The valley is almost empty for as far as you can see except for a few hardy encampments that dot the floor of the valley. It is completly silent of all human sounds other than a occasional car on the well maintained road that cuts through the lower corner of the property. 66.39.114.178/DOCS/Cantil-5.jpg[/img]
Believe it or not, but not only is there power lines that run along the road but the pole that is on the corner of my property has a cell site unit on the post and a 110volt gf outlet at the base of the pole. The cellphone signal was crystal clear even at the top of the mid-level peaks. I found several burial sites don't know if they're Indian or Miners, or what. I also found several monuments built out of rocks, some quite massive. It's a lot hella lot further from the dry lake bed than it looks in the pictures it was quite a trek. Discovered a really cool cave right at the foot of the mountain dug out of the rock. The 4ft entranc opened up to what was maybe a 10' around, by 10-15' high cave, complete with a 1' round vent hole above what appeared to be the firepit. Access from the road was very easy with service dirt road paths already kind of established. 66.39.114.178/DOCS/Cantil-2.jpg[/img]
Water looks like it's tank based out there so it appears to be the water solution of choice rather than dig a well. Starting at the road, the ground is hard packed but silty, powdery, sandy dirt, that transforms into rocky granite hillside. The rocks that make up the area and mountain is amazing there is a rainbow of quartz of every hue imaginable of all sizes, you just want put every rock you see in you're pocket they're so beautiful. This is mixed with what appears to be pourous Lava type rocks, some sort of irridesent shale type stuff, and other stuff that looks like it was transport from someother place altogether. The days were warm, sunny with some high clouds and hardly any winds because of the way the mountains close around the valley. I'll have to wait and see if windpower generation is even remotely achieveable. I would have thought that you would get a natural gust of wind, but no I hardly remember any wind. The nights were frigid, the low 30's and the days a balmy 74. All and all more than I could ever have hoped for and more. Can't wait for the next road trip sometime towards the begining of January. Travel time from Hollywood was about 1hr and 50 mins, mostly due to being in the MPV van that settled in at a speed of about 60-65. I of course drive more like 75-80 and would have made it in far less time. The milage count was about 110 miles. There is a Stater Bros Market at the fork in the 14 highway and Red Rock Rd. (which is my street and dang near the only street for maybe 20 some miles) maybe about 15 to 20 minutes away. 66.39.114.178/DOCS/CantilMap.jpg
There is a low to the ground grass and some sparse chapperral and chest high native bush that grows up and down the valleys and Mountains except for the huge white chalky area that makes up the dry lakebed called Kohen Lake. Pictures and Video will be posted later.
reportedly,
Rick Smith

Just got word today that Rachael Hasting has graciously accepted the part of Captain Melissa Sanders, Captain of the SS Einstien. Rachael is an excellent choice for the role, I actually had the great joy of working with her on another feature project of mine, a dark quirky comedy titled "Interview With and Internet Junkie" she (married at the time, and listed as Rachael Elfman) played "Nurse Betty", a character I loosely based on the Young Frankenstein Housekeeper character "Frau Bloouker". As Captain Sanders, she will play a hardnose by the book Captain. She runs a type ship and is very hands on. Being an Explorer, she always wants to lead the away team.

I am currently working on the SS Einstein bridge spec's , I am torn between the shared command configuration of the TNG era, or the Captain's Chair syndrome of the TOS. Will post pics later. Any Bridge specialist out there? (2D or 3D).
I am planning a trip out to the property this week-end January 28-29, 2006 and map out some gps coordinates. Anyone familiar with this process? Where/whom do I get the GPS cordinates from?
Anyone wanting to come along, help hang-out, play music, or party email me and I'll help with any quesions on how to get there.
conventionally,
Rick Smith

Well after much deliberation I have revised two major components of the storyline.
#1 is that there will not be an Academy in the story.
#2 The name of the sister ship formally known as the SS Nightblade is now S.S. New York.
As to the first, as I became more critical of things as I began writting the script it was obvious that it would be way to much to try and cover. I felt the show would just be to convoluted. As to the second, I never was really happy with thename especially after the era chaged from TNG to 50 years before Enterprise-NX. One of the 3D Artist made the comment that it seemed very Star Ship Creator-ish, and I agreed.

Here are the new concept shots for the Starfleet Ranger Outfits:
Costumers Note: Does not show gun, gun holster, or UFP logo in belt or Jacket shoulder, these are just Photoshop comps of what we are working on.
With pips for ranking.
Captain is 4 gold, Commander is 3 gold, Lt. Commander is 2 gold and 1 black, Lt. is 2 gold, Lt. J.G. is 1 gold 1 black and Ensign is 1 gold
I am scheduling a Photo shoot with the finished Ranger suits in the next week, and will try to put up some WIPs of the Ship's Crew Uniform (85% finished), and Exterior Space Suits (70% finished)

Met with Robert Miller about the Space suit helmets and he has two Hero helmets from a Sci-Fi pilot that got canceled. He will bring them over this weekend and I can maybe upload pics of someone wearing the helmet, suit, the back pack, gloves, and boots.

Just got back from the Ranch Tuesday. We towed the RV I bought to use as a base camp. I bought it cheap because the engine was blown but I didn't want an engine anyway, it's sitting where it will sit until I'm through with it. The previous owner had just gotten everything serviced and checked including the aircondition. They always dry camped at KOA sites, so the bathroom was never used. The water and propane tanks were full, the grey and dark tanks were empty. I just set up a porto-potty on the site, and they will service the RV as well. I just recieved Direct-TV for the RV this morning and set up the appointment for next Tuesday to install the Satellite Internet. Things are moving forward. In the Wardrobe department, I am picking up the new helmets I will be using for the Exterior Spacesuits.
